Gary Ratner's previous history includes serving as President and Co-founder of Salon Plaza Enterprises, LLC, a chain of beauty salon suites in Maryland and Virginia. Salon Plaza partnered with our sister company, Suite Management Franchise, to grow a national franchise under the brands MYSALON Suite and Salon Plaza. Before exiting, the company’s growth rate was tracking at one store per week. The company is currently approaching 10,000 members and 350 locations, growing rapidly.
In Gary's role, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Salon Plaza organization, implementing the company’s growth and long-term strategy. The business was exited through a sale in 2021. Growing up in the beauty industry, Gary first began working as a stylist in 1982. In 1987, he joined Ratner Companies in the Real Estate Division, helping grow the company to nearly 1,000 locations over a 35-year period. As a third-generation hairstylist, business entrepreneur, and investor, Gary uses his past experiences growing organizations to guide his business decisions and find new opportunities in retail, real estate, consumer products, and technology businesses.
In addition to his cosmetology licenses (DC, VA, and FL) and VA Instructor’s License, Gary holds Real Estate Licenses in Virginia and Washington, DC, and is a member of YPO/WPO. He currently resides in Virginia and Florida.
